Is returning to activity important in persistent pain? ABSOLUTELY!
Being able to regain independent function and return to enjoyable activities is not only important for your quality of life but it is also very important to help in your recovery from pain.
This can mean being able to do domestic activities such as cooking, cleaning and washing, being able to do community activities such as shopping or socialising or being able to enjoy recreational activities such as gardening, bushwalking and going to the theatre.
Pain often stops these activities in their tracks. It can make it difficult to start them again or challenging to complete them.
Below, we have a great strategy to overcome pain and improve functon, an action plan to get started and a quiz to problem solve just how to overcome those obstacles.
The Golden Rule:
If your pain is the same or better when you are doing your activity, you are recovering
