Goal setting
Often when people experience persisting pain, they reduce their activities and participation at home and in the community.
Functional goal setting is an important component of our pain rehabilitation program to target specifically what you want to achieve with the program.
Questions to ask yourself:
- What is important in my life?
- What have I stopped doing that I want to get started again?
- Where do I want to be in 3 months, 6 months, 12 months?
- If you had less pain, what would you do with yourself?
- What is your vision of the future?
Choose 3 SMART functional goals from program content below.
A SMART goal is:
S – Specific (to you)
M – Measurable (0 – 10 scale)
A – Achievable (you can get there)
R – Realistic (it is possible)
T – Time bound (to be achieved over the next 12 weeks)
