Motor Imagery

Now that you’ve mastered Level 1: left/ right judgement of body parts (you’ve trained the sensory part of the brain that is affected by pain), it’s time to move onto retraining the motor part of the brain.

Motor imagery lets you work your ‘mirror neurons’ to prepare you for movement.

You will be looking at pictures of people in various positions and imagining movement. This actually works the pre-motor area of your brain to improve your actual movements. This is designed to be pain free.

The photos are arranged from easiest to hardest so start at photo A and progress through the series, practicing each day.

Start below by chossing the body area you want to work on – this should be the same as for Level 1.
